Improved Performance and Sizing

This month has seen some changes come to pass that widen the gap between AQUECOIL™ products and the competition.

Our engineering department analyzed our lineup after some inquiries were made about why certain things are the way they are. The answer of, “Well, this is the way we’ve been doing it for 20 years.” is not acceptable in this day and age.

After careful consideration and cost analysis, improvements have been made to many models. Some internal coils have had their parameters changed to better serve the current lineup.

  • The first result is a significant increase in BTUH output with reduced air pressure drop on many models.
  • The second result of their work is that many additional AQUECOIL™ model fit their complimentary air handlers exactly, with no overhang.

Of course, having to rework all the specification sheets gave the project management team a great reason to make a change they’ve been considering as well.

  • In addition to showing the better performance and better fit on many models, the HHU specification sheets now use 68˚F entering air temperature in all calculations. This is important because the US Department of Energy recommends all homeowners to set their thermostats to 68˚F in the heating season and it provides a “real world” basis to compare residential coil output between manufacturers. Beware though: Some companies use lower air temperatures to inflate the BTUH output they advertise and try to fool unsuspecting viewers.
  • Also, the performance data points now show exiting water and air temperatures on the spec sheet instead of a temperature delta. Using “real world” entering temperature makes those numbers easy for installers to read and verify, further allowing them to tweak the Hydronic Heating system for optimal performance.

As with most of our continual product line enhancements, these changes will not affect the current price of AQUECOIL™ Hydronic Heating Units.

We strive to maintain our position as the best HydroHeat option on the market and value our customers. If there is something you’d like to see us change, do not hesitate to let us know so we can do something about it! Your input is greatly valued and your business is much appreciated.

Thank you!
